This Privacy Policy explains how The Tech Trendy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application Quizmandu (“App”).

Your privacy is important to us. Our goal is to provide you with a fun, offline quiz experience without collecting your personal information. Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices.

1. Data We Collect (and What We DON’T Collect)

We collect two types of information:

• Data stored locally on your device
• Data stored in the cloud or collected through third-party services

We do not collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, phone number, email address, photos, contacts, or location details.

A) Information Stored Locally on Your Device:

This data is created as you play the game and is stored only on your own device. We do not have access to this information. This data is essential for the app to function and save your progress. It includes:

• Game Progress: Your unlocked levels for each category, your highest scores, and the dates they were achieved.
• Game Statistics: The number of times you have played each category.
• Gamification State: Your current number of lives and the timestamp for your next life refill.
• App Settings: Your preferences for language (English/Nepali), dark mode, sound effects, and haptic feedback.
• First-Time User Status: Flags to know if you have completed the onboarding screen or have seen in-app tutorials, so we don’t show them again.

You have full control over this data and can delete all of it at any time by using the “Reset All Progress” button in the App’s settings or by clearing the App’s data through your device’s system settings.

B) Information Collected and Stored in the Cloud

As part of new improvements to the App, certain non-personal gameplay and engagement data is now stored securely in the cloud. This includes:

• Random User ID (automatically generated; not linked to your identity)
• Client-Level Details (device type, app version, in-app behaviour patterns)
• Daily Streak Records
• Last Play Date
• Gameplay engagement metrics used to maintain leaderboards, streaks, and reward systems

This information is stored to improve app functionality, personalise user experience, maintain daily streaks, and enhance gameplay consistency across updates.

We do not collect names, emails, or other personal identifiers.

C) Information Collected by Third-Party Services (Google AdMob):

To support the development and maintenance of Quizmandu and keep it free, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is our only third-party service that collects data.

AdMob may collect and use data to provide personalized advertising. This data may include:

• Device Information: Including your device model, operating system, and screen size.
• Identifiers: Your device’s advertising ID (IDFA for iOS, GAID for Android).
• Location Information: Your general location based on your IP address.
• Ad Interaction Data: Information about which ads you see and whether you interact with them.

We, as the developer of Quizmandu, do not have direct access to this personally identifiable data collected by AdMob. We only see aggregated, anonymous reports (e.g., the number of ads shown and revenue generated).

D) Information Collected Through Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how users interact with the app.
This includes:

• App events (e.g., category played, level completed)
• Session duration
• Device type and operating system
• Crash reports
• Region-level analytics (approximate, based on IP; we do not see exact locations)

Google Analytics provides us with aggregated, anonymous insights only.
We cannot identify any specific user from this information.

E) Information Collected During Promotional Giveaways (Personal Information)

From time to time, we may run promotional campaigns, contests, rewards, and giveaways. Participation in these events is completely voluntary.
When you join a giveaway, we may collect information, such as:

• Your Quizmandu user ID
• Email address
• Contact details (e.g., phone number or social media handle)
• Delivery information such as banking details
• Any other information required to verify eligibility or deliver prizes

Purpose of Collecting This Information

We collect this information solely for:

• Verifying your entry and eligibility
• Contacting winners
• Delivering prizes or rewards
• Ensuring fairness and preventing fraudulent participation
• Complying with legal or regulatory requirements associated with contests

How This Information Is Stored and Protected

• Personal information collected for giveaways is stored securely, separate from gameplay data.
• It is only accessible to authorised personnel.
• It is retained only for the duration of the giveaway or for the time required to comply with legal obligations, after which it is permanently deleted.

We do not use giveaway information for advertising, analytics, or selling to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

To Operate and Improve the App

• Maintain your game progress, streaks, and rewards
• Ensure seamless gameplay and app performance
• Provide cloud backup of gameplay analytics (non-personal)

To Analyse and Enhance User Experience

• Understand which features are most used
• Fix bugs, enhance UI/UX, and improve stability
• Measure engagement for new features and events

To Display Ads, Promotions, and Giveaways

• Serve relevant advertisements
• Display promotional banners, competitions, and in-app updates

To Prevent Fraud and Ensure Fair Use

• Detect irregular gameplay
• Maintain fair scoring, rewards, and daily streaks

3. Your Rights and Choices (Opting Out)

You have choices regarding the data collected for advertising purposes. You can limit ad tracking and opt out of personalized ads by changing the settings on your device.

• On iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and you can prevent apps from requesting to track you. Additionally, you can go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising and turn off “Personalized Ads.”
• On Android: Go to Settings > Google > Ads and tap “Delete advertising ID.”
• Reset App Data :You may clear all offline game data from device settings.
• Limit Analytics (Where Supported by Device):Turn off “Usage & Diagnostics” or similar settings in your OS.

Please note that opting out does not mean you will no longer see ads; it means the ads you see may not be as relevant to your interests.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect cloud-stored data.
However:

• No system is completely secure, but we take all reasonable precautions to protect the information we store
• Locally stored data remains under your device’s security

5. Children’s Privacy

Quizmandu is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our app store listing. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
